The TTA format extends the T42 packet stream format by adding an index header. One software that creates files in this format is teletext_ng.

This index consists of a table of 2048 16 bit signed integers. Each entry corresponds to a main page including its sub pages. A positive number indicates the number of Teletext packets for that page and its sub-pages. 0 indicates that this page was not recorded, negative numbers are reserved. The order of Teletext packets is undefined, but the current implementation orders them by row number, and designation code. Magazine global packets are stored as the page xFF.
